Readers Choose Jim Smith Karate as Favorite Martial Arts School

Patch readers have spoken and selected  in Yorktown as their favorite place for martial arts.

Hanshi Jim Smith, the head instructor and owner of Jim Smith Karate in Yorktown Heights, has been in business in Westchester for 39 years. Involved in martial arts since the age of 5, Hanshi has years of training and teaching in the style of Okinawan Goju-Ryu and more recently, Goju-Te. In May, the New York Goju Association honored the owner with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to Martial Arts.
