Readers Choose Turkey Mountain as Best Place for Staycation

Thanks for voting this week.

Patch readers have spoken and selected Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve in Yorktown as the best place for a staycation activity in town.

Even if you like to travel, expensive airline tickets and the price of gas today might preclude you from taking a great trip to the Caribbean, but luckily there are a lot of staycation activity options near by.

Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve's trails are great for hiking. The spacious 125-acre park has 3.4 miles of trails. A hike in Turkey Mountain Nature Preserve should include a vigorous hike to the top to enjoy the view – something the park is so popular for. You can also take a slow hike on the 1.1 miles of intertwined trails just beyond the parking lot.
