Route 202 Construction Project; Dispose of Electronics; Somers BOE Meeting

Here are five things you need to know today, April 23.

1. Route 202 in Yorktown Under Construction 

A public information meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. in the Nutrition Room of the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, located at 1974 Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights. At this meeting, New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) officials will provide an overview of the project plans and construction schedule

The ninth-annual 'Go the Distance' walk drew a sea of pedestrians Sunday as people came from around the region to support Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

3. Electronics Disposal Days in Yorktown

Yorktown residents may dispose of their obsolete computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and tablets, printers, televisions, fax machines or cell phones for free by dropping them off at the Refuse & Recylcing Department during E-Waste Disposal Days! This month bring your e-waste on Tuesday, April 23 and Friday, April 26.

4. Somers BOE Meeting

The Somers board of education meeting will be held tonight, April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Somers Middle School Library. 

5. Pre-school Camp Enrollment

Yorktown's pre-school camp enrollment is now open to children 3 years old and older. Fees increase Monday, May 20. Non-residents can register Monday, May 6. For more details, check out the town of Yorktown's website.
