A 47-year-old Shrub Oak woman is facing criminal charges for stealing a bottle of whisky from a liquor store, Yorktown police said.
The theft was reported on June 17 at about 6:55 p.m. Police said the woman took a bottle of Red Stag whisky, valued at $12.99, from Lakeland Wine and Liquor in Shrub Oak and fled the scene without attempting to pay for it.
After viewing surveillance video of the suspect, police searched the area but couldn't find the woman. Later that night while on an unrelated call on James Street, police officer Sansone identified the woman as the suspect in the theft from the liquor store.
He arrested her and the woman was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. She was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on July 18.
