Somers District Adopts 2023-24 School Calendar

SOMERS, NY — The Somers Central School District adopted its calendar for the 2023-24 school year.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2022-23 school year:

8/30-31 Professional Learning Day/Staff Orientation (no students)

September

9/5 Schools open
9/15 Rosh Hashanah (schools closed)
9/25 Yom Kippur (schools closed)

October

10/9 Columbus Day (schools closed)
10/10 Professional Learning Day (no students)

November

11/10 Veterans Day (schools closed)
11/23-24 Thanksgiving Recess (schools closed)

December

12/25-29 Winter Recess (schools closed)

January

1/1-2 New Year's Day recess (schools closed)
1/3 Schools Reopen
1/15 Martin Luther King Jr. Day (schools closed)

February

2/19-23 Winter Recess (schools closed)

March

3/1 Professional Learning Day (no students)
3/29 Good Friday (no students)

April

4/1-5 Spring Recess (schools closed)
4/22-23 Passover (schools closed)

5/27 Memorial Day Recess (schools closed)

The school district said that Spring and Memorial Day recesses are subject to change. Parents should refrain from making irrevocable plans for this time.

If more than three weather emergency days are used, weather make-up days will be taken in the following order: May 28 (PLC Day will be an instructional day), then April 5, April 4 and April 3.
