Somers League of Women Voters to Host Maloney as Guest Speaker at Annual Fall Luncheon

Members of the Somers League of Women Voters will hold their Annual Fall Luncheon on Monday, Sept. 7 with first-term U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-18th) as guest speaker.

The luncheon is being held at Le Fontane Ristorante, located on Route 100 in Somers. The cost is $39 per person. For more information call Bea at 914-276-4876.

In its description of the luncheon, Somers League of Women Voters members wrote on their website:

"Are Our Congressional Representatives Governing? Is Congress at an Impasse? Can any legislation be approved? Who represents the interests of the people? Does collaboration exist? Is science fact, fiction or a matter of opinion?These and many other critical issues are facing the country. This is your opportunity to ask your questions and participate in the discussion."

In addition to the luncheon, Somers League of Women Voters are sponsoring a "Meet the Candidates" for Westchester County Legislator, Town of Somers Supervisor and Town of Somers Councilmen on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Somers Town Hall.
