Somers Raises Money for Fireworks Spectacular

It will be held on Saturday, June 29 in Reis Park. The day's events will include a BBQ, farm implement exhibit and other farm activities, games, waterslide, entertainment and music.

The town of Somers will be holding a Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, June 29 in Reis Park, but it needs the community's help. 

Town officials raised 100 percent of the cost for last year's firework spectacular. 

"This year we would like to reach the same goal," Somers Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy said. "All contributions will go directly to the Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.

The day will begin with the 5th Annual Lynn Adams Memorial 5k run & 1 mile walk and talk-a-thon. This year Taste of Somers will start at 2 p.m. and the official opening ceremony will be held at 4 p.m.

The day's events will include the Somers Lions BBQ, Wright Reis Homestead Open House, farm implement exhibit and other farm activities, all-star games, children’s and family games, waterslide, entertainment and music.

If you'd like to make a donation, checks can be made payable to the Town of Somers with a notation in the memo "Fireworks."
