Somers Woman to be Honored at 'In The Company of Women' Luncheon
Kaila Marie Letteri has been selected for the honor because of her academic excellence and leadership.

Kaila Marie Letteri, of Somers, has been invited to the YWCA's fifth annual "In The Company of Women" luncheon on Friday when she will be honored for her accomplishments along with three other young women.
Letteri, a student a Pace University, was nominated and selected for the honor because of her peer recognition, academic excellence and leadership, and volunteer and community service.
The young woman was the first female to receive the Tech Award while she was a student at Somers High School. She was president of the Technology Student Association and maintains a 3.68 grade point average (GPA).

She is also an ambassador Girl Scout, having received her Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards. Her Girl Scout Gold Award Project was designed to benefit special needs students at Somers High School by implementing a ceramic garden. The goal of her project was to promote awareness and inclusion within the school.
Letteri has volunteered for more than seven charities throughout her high school and college career and has received the Shrub Oak-based St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School's Recognition Award for charitable contributions and academic effort.

She will be recognized at the annual luncheon, which will be held on Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook.
The YWCA's "In The Company of Women" luncheon is expected to attract nearly 600 people. Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian-American to win a Pulitzer Prize, business executive, entrepreneur and best selling-author will be the keynote speaker at the event.
The non-profit organization's mission, according to a statement, is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
