Thomas Pignatelli of Yorktown Dies at 89
Pignatelli served honorably in the United States Army during WWII . He later opened a hot dog truck on route 6 and became known as Mr. Hot Dog.

Thomas Pignatelli, a Yorktown Heights resident, who operated a hot dog truck on Route 6, passed away on March 25. He was 89.
He was born on April 14, 1923 in the Bronx to Josephine Marco and Vincent Pignatello. Pignatelli served honorably in the United States Army during WWII and later married Josephine DiFrancia on July 7, 1946. He worked as an operating engineer for local 137 retiring in 1981.
Pignatelli later opened a hot dog truck on route 6 and became known as Mr. Hot Dog.

He is survived by two sons Thomas Pignatelli Jr. (Valarie) and James Pignatelli, three daughters Joann DeGregorio, Judy Castaldo and Jeryl Fontana (Fred). The man is also survived by a brother Albert and a sister Connie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Predeceased by three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29 at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
