What is the Most Expensive Bottle of Wine?
The owner of Suburban Wine & Spirits in Yorktown says the bottle is generally bought as an investment.
The most expensive bottle of wine at Suburban Wine & Spirits in Yorktown costs $5,000.
That's according to store owner Lance Cerutti, who told Patch there is just one bottle of wine in stock. The Montrachet Chardonnay comes from France and it a very limited edition.
Another expensive bottle of wine sold at the store is the Screaming Eagle cabernet sauvignon, which comes from California. It retails for $1,800 per bottle and can be purchased in a set of three bottles – all three packaged in a box. The cost for that is $5,400.

The cabernet sauvignon pairs well with steaks and heartier meats, Cerutti said.
Both bottles of wines are generally purchased as an investment so they could be sold later or kept as a "trophy," the liquor store owner said.
