Women Used Child To Steal From Mohegan Lake Walmart: Police

The state police said the women were accused of taking more than $3,500 worth of merchandise.

MOHEGAN LAKE, NY — Two Yonkers women were arrested after being accused of using a child to steal merchandise from Walmart.

The New York State Police said troopers were sent around 10:40 p.m. Nov. 21 to the Walmart on East Main Street in Mohegan Lake for a report of theft.

An investigation found that Rosa J. Margolla, 58, and Rosa M. Margolla Rivera, 40, both of Yonkers, stole more than $3,590 worth of items from the store using a child to do the stealing, police said.

Both women were charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Margolla and Margolla Rivera were arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and released on their own recognizance to reappear before the court Dec. 12.
