2. Local students make the Dean's list at SUNY Geneseo

To be on the list, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours. Students on the list from this area are: Kathryn Boyle, Tyler Lipperman and Laura Victor. Nice work!

3. Yorktown High School Orchestra Fundraiser 

Members of the  Orchestra is holding a fundraiser at Barnes and Noble in Mohegan Lake today. They will be performing at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. for 30 minutes each. If you can't attend the book fair in person you can shop Barnes and Noble online at BN.COM/bookfairs to support the orchestra (until June 9) by enetering their book fair ID 10778777 at checkout.  

The money raised will help the YHS Orchestra pay for competitions and program.

4. Teachers to Receive Tenure

A number of Yorktown school district teachers are expected to receive tenuretonight at the Yorktown board of education meeting. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the cafeteria.

5. National Junior Honor Society Induction 

The National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School. Congratulations to all students!
