Yonkers Man Accused Of Stealing Identity
Police said he used the victim's credit card to buy electronics at Best Buy.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yonkers man was accused of stealing someone’s identity and using their credit card to buy electronics.
The Yorktown Police Department said Gabriel Frias Gil, 27, of Yonkers, was charged Tuesday with first-degree identity theft, a felony.
Police said, on June 10, Yorktown police took a report of the theft of a purse containing multiple credit cards from a car.

Shortly after the incident, police said one of the credit cards belonging to the victim was used to buy $2,664.04 in electronics from Best Buy in the Palisades Mall.
An investigation was conducted and Gil was ID’d as the suspect, police said.

On Tuesday, the Westchester County Police Department told the Yorktown police they had Gil in custody on an unrelated charge.
He was taken to Yorktown police headquarters for processing.
Gil was arraigned and released on his own recognizance and is due back in court Thursday.
