Yorktown 13-Year-Old Accused Of Assault

The child was charged with juvenile delinquency, with a misdemeanor as the underlying charge.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 13-year-old boy was arrested after being accused of punching and kicking another person.

The Yorktown Police Department said the Yorktown Heights resident was charged Wednesday with juvenile delinquency, with the underlying charge being third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.

According to the police, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to Commerce Street to check out an assault that had happened earlier in the night.

When they got there, police said they met with the victim and his mother.

The investigation found that the 13-year-old boy, whose name was not released, had punched and kicked the victim while they were on the bike path next to the firehouse.

On Wednesday, the 13-year-old and a parent responded to the Yorktown Police Department.

After being charged, he was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance to a parent.

The boy is scheduled to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation July 6.
