Yorktown Announces Cooling Center Locations For Heat Wave
Heat index values are forecast to be as high as 96 degrees in parts of northern Westchester.
YORKTOWN, NY — With heat index values as high as 96 degrees in parts of northern Westchester County, the town of Yorktown has opened cooling centers.
The town’s cooling centers will be open through Friday at:
- Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center, Room 16, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., 1974 Commerce St., Yorktown Heights
- John C. Hart Memorial Library, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 1130 E. Main St., Shrub Oak
- Jefferson Valley Mall, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 650 Lee Boulevard, Yorktown Heights
Town officials said that, if it’s too hot in your home, you should visit one of the cooling centers to cool off and relax.
