Yorktown A&P Employee Steals More Than $10,000

A 22-year-old Yorktown Heights woman is facing a felony charge for stealing more than $10,000 by creating false returns and taking money from a cash register at the A&P, Yorktown police said.
 
Jillian F. Barnes was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police said the woman stole $10,024.43 from the Triangle Shopping Center A&P between October, 2012 and May, 2013. 

She was arrested on May 9 and released after posting $2,500 cash bail. Barnes was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on May 23.
