Yorktown Cancels All Full, Half-Day Summer Camps
Junior Lake Pool will remain closed all summer, and Shrub Oak Pool and Sparkle Lake will stay closed until July at the earliest.
YORKTOWN, NY — In an effort to continue bolstering public health, full- and half-day summer camps in Yorktown and Lakewood have both been canceled through the summer.
“We are disappointed as a department to cancel these programs, but we will be working within the structure of the four-phased state reopening guidelines to hopefully provide some weekly activities for your children,” recreation director Jim Martorano, Jr., said in a statement.
The town said Junior Lake Pool will also remain closed throughout the summer as construction continues. Town health officials have also suspended pool permits for the present time, so Shrub Oak Pool and Sparke Lake will remain closed through July at the earliest.
