A 52-year-old man is facing criminal charges in Yorktown for stealing items from a department store, police said.
Police responded to Sears on May 14 after they received a report that a shoplifter was in custody. The man had attempted to leave the store with $25.93 worth of merchandise without paying for the items, police said.
He was arrested and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. The man was later released on $100 cash bail. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on June 18.
