
A 53-year-old man is facing a drunk driving charge in Yorktown, police said.
Police said they received a report from a patron of the Carvel ice cream shop, located on Hill Boulevard, that a possible intoxicated man had just driven out of the parking lot in a gold van. Police were dispatched, the vehicle was spotted and the man was observed to be driving in an "erratic manner," according to a police report.
Investigation revealed the man, a Fly Creek resident, was driving while intoxicated.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors; as well as three counts of driving left of pavement markings, traffic violation.
The man was released on $300 bail to a family member and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Sept. 24.
