Yorktown Heights Man Accused Of Drunken Driving After Accident
Police said he was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights man was accused of drunken driving after a one-car accident.
The Yorktown Police Department said John D. Madden, 51, of Yorktown Heights, was charged Wednesday with aggravated driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, first offense, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, misdemeanors, and failed to use designated lane, a traffic infraction.
Police said, shortly before midnight Wednesday, an officer was sent to check out a one-car accident.

The car was found off the roadway and identified Madden as the driver.
An investigation found that he was driving while intoxicated.

Madden was placed under arrest and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
Further investigation determined that he was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more.
Madden was issued uniform traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party.
He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court May 18.
