Yorktown Heights Man Drives Drunk, Crashes Car: Police
Police said the man also wasn't wearing his seat belt and had an open container of alcohol in the car.
YORKTOWN, NY — A crash into a telephone pole led to an accusation of drunken driving for a Yorktown Heights man.
The Yorktown Police Department said Timothy B. Rishel, 24, of Yorktown Heights, was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and failed to use designated lane, driver no seatbelt and open container, traffic infractions.
According to police, around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on routine patrol in the area of Broad Street and Route 35 when he saw a car that had gone off the road and crashed into a telephone pole.

An investigation at the scene found Rishel was driving while intoxicated, wasn’t wearing a seat belt and had an open container of alcohol inside the car.
He was arrested and taken to Westchester Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident.

While at the hospital, Rishel was issued uniform traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance to the care of Westchester Medical Center staff.
He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court May 25.
