Yorktown Man Arrested For ATV Runover: Police

Police also said the ATV the man was operating was stolen from Suffolk County in 2021.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was arrested after being accused of running down a person at the Hunterbrook Ballfield with an ATV in late August.

The Yorktown Police Department said Kyle Frankild, 21, of Yorktown, was arrested Thursday and charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury auto accident, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies.

Around 2:45 p.m. Aug. 27, police said officers were sent to the Hunterbrook Ballfield on Hunterbrook Road to investigate a man struck by an ATV who was reported to be unconscious.

The investigation by Yorktown police found Frankild left the scene of the incident which caused serious physical injury to another person, according to authorities. He also caused damage to the ballfield while operating an ATV.

Additionally, police said the ATV being driven by Frankild was stolen from Suffolk County in 2021.

On Thursday Frankild arrived with his attorney at the Yorktown Police Department and surrendered himself.

He was placed under arrest and processed on the charges.

Frankild was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in court Oct. 26.
