Yorktown Man Breaks Car Door Window, Punches Victim: Police
A judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of breaking a car door’s window and punching the person inside.
The Yorktown Police Department said Michael Lawrence Caterino, 25, of Yorktown, was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors.
Police said, around 1:30 a.m. July 30, officers were sent to check out a report of a domestic disturbance that happened in the parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall.

The investigation found that Caterino punched out the victim’s car window, opened the door and began hitting the victim in the face.
Authorities said Caterino fled the scene on foot before police got there.

On Thursday, he arrived at Yorktown Police Department headquarters to turn himself in.
Caterino was processed on the charges and arraigned by a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.
He was released on his own recognizance and instructed to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 24.
