Yorktown Man Drives Drunk, Has 4 Open Containers In Car: Police
Police initially stopped the man for speeding.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of driving while drunk after being stopped for speeding.
The Yorktown Police Department said Kevin Brown, 53, of Yorktown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and two counts of speed not reasonable or prudent and four counts of possession of open container of alcohol in a vehicle, traffic infractions.
Police said, around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, an officer on patrol on East Main Street said he saw a car driving at a high rate of speed that was neither reasonable nor prudent for the conditions.

The car turned onto Buckhorn Street and was still speeding, police said.
A traffic stop was conducted and it was found that Brown was operating the vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol, according to authorities.

Police said there were also four open containers of alcohol inside the car.
Brown was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
He was issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult.
Brown is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court July 6.
