Yorktown Man Threatens Woman With Knife, Tries To Choke Her: PD
Police had been sent to the Yorktown home to check out a domestic incident.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of threatening a woman and trying to choke her.
The Yorktown Police Department said Juan Francisco Aguilar Lopez, 40, of Yorktown, was charged Monday with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree menacing, all misdemeanors.
Police said officers were sent around 3:30 a.m. Monday to a Yorktown home to investigate a report of a domestic incident.

It was found that Lopez hit the woman causing an injury, put his forearm on her throat, intentionally trying to stop her breathing, and threatened her with a knife, police said.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

Lopez was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court, where the judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the woman.
His bail was set at $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
Authorities said he was not able to post bail and was turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.
Lopez is scheduled to appear in court June 2.
