Yorktown Man Uses Baseball Bat To Injure Another: PD

Police said the man was unable to make bail so he was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Westchester man was arrested after being accused of hitting another man with a baseball bat.

The Yorktown Police Department said Jan Kluk, 67, of Yorktown, was charged Tuesday with second-degree attempted assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

Police said, around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to check out a report of an assault in progress in the 2800 block of Crompond Road.

The investigation found that Kluk tried to physically injure the victim by hitting him in the shoulder with a wooden bat.

Kluk was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters.

After being processed, bail was set at $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond or $20,000 partially secured bond.

Because he was unable to post bail, Kluk was turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

He is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Friday.
