Yorktown's recreation department sponsored 10 basketball teams for this year's annual Westchester County Recreation Basketball Tournament at the Westchester County Center over the first three weeks of March. The three divisions of teams were Cubs (ages 11 and under), Midgets (ages 12-13) and Juniors (14 and 15-year-old children).  Yorktown had three girls teams from Mohansic Girls Basketball, two boys teams from Yorktown Athletic Club and five all star teams (2 girls and 3 boys) from the Shrub Oak Athletic Club. The four teams that made it all the way to the finals were: Shrub Oak Girls Midget Recreation- 1st place Yorktown Boys Midget Open – 2nd place Yorktown Girls Cub Open – 2nd place Shrub Oak Girls Cub Recreation – 2nd place
