
Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace's adopted son was arrested on Aug. 31 and charged with a felony for forging several checks belonging to a local business, Yorktown police said.
Henry W. Grace, 20 - who also got into trouble for stealing a car and driving while ability impaired by drugs, as well as crashing a stolen car - was charged with five counts of second-degree forgery, felonies.
Police began their investigation into the case on Aug. 14 when they received the complaint. Investigation revealed that between July 28 and Aug. 6, Grace had forged the signature on several checks belonging to a local business and then deposited them into an account, "depriving the local business of approximately $760," police said in a statement.
Police did not say what business those checks belonged to.
Grace was arraigned in Peekskill City Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Sept. 3.
