Yorktown Teen Accused Of Stealing Credit Card From Car

He faced a felony charge of possessing stolen property, police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A teenage boy was accused of stealing a credit card.

The Yorktown Police Department said a 17-year-old Yorktown Heights resident was charged Thursday with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony

Police said, around 3:30 p.m. April 27, officers, while following up on a theft from a car, said they recovered a credit card that didn't belong to the teen.

Further investigation led to the identification of the person to whom the card actually belonged.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, the teenage boy and a parent voluntarily went to the Yorktown Police Department where the teen was arrested.

He was issued a juvenile appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance to his parent.

The teen is scheduled to appear in the Felony Youth part of the Westchester County Superior Court May 19.
