The seventh annual Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley walk and 5K run will be held on rain or shine on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was founded in 1986, grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. "Fulfilling a child’s wish provides a joyful and meaningful experience that benefits both the child and the family," the foundation posted on its website.

"Walk & 5K Run For Wishes is a unique opportunity to truly engage the entire community offering a hands-on experience to help make wishes come true," said Thomas J. Conklin, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley. "We are looking forward to welcoming local businesses, community leaders, organizations, schools and individual supporters to walk with wish families and raise the funds necessary to ensure a wish for every child, one step at a time.”
