Yorktown Woman Charged with Driving While Intoxicated

A 48-year-old Yorktown woman was found to be allegedly driving drunk after she got into a two-vehicle accident last week, police said.
Susan M. Hardman was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, both felonies.
Police were dispatched to Route 35 on May 5 at about 6:30 p.m. to investigate a two-vehicle auto accident. None of the people involved were injured, police said. However, investigation revealed one of the drivers, Hardman, was operating her vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Following a chemical test at the , it’s alleged the defendant was operating her vehicle with a BAC of .18 percent or more.
Hardman has a prior conviction within the last 10 years for driving drunk, so the current charges were elevated to a felony, police said.

The woman was released to a third party and scheduled to appear in on June 7.
