Rob Del Balzo, a Yorktown native who is a caterer to the stars and owner of the fast casual restaurant Nuttin To It! located in downtown Yorktown Heights, will lead Hilltop Hanover Farm's Couples Cooking class on Sept. 20.
Del Balzo's catering career started like most young chefs – from having regular dinners with his family, to working as a bus boy and waiter as a young teen and later becoming executive chef and manager at a local restaurant.
He also might have learned a few tricks from the kitchen of his grandfather's restaurant Autuns in Elmsford. After college Del Balzo worked in numerous restaurants in the area including Grandma's, Hanover and Murphy's.
In 2009, following a brief four-year career in finance, he was back cooking and decided that it would be his future.
Since then he has built Nuttin To It! from a small operation working out of the Elk's Lodge kitchen to a store front restaurant (2012) and catering business with high-end clients including CBS, HGTV, Discovery, Travel Channel, NBC, Food Network, and other big networks and production companies.
This October, Del Balzo will begin his third consecutive season catering "Celebrity Apprentice All Stars," He said he was proud of the fact that Bobby Flay asked for seconds when he made Italian meals on set of Food Networks #1 show "Next Food Network Star" season 8.
Hilltop Hanover Farm is located at 1271 Hanover Street in Yorktown Heights.
