Yorktown's Trash, Recycling Collections Revised for Labor Day Holiday

For the Labor Day holiday, the waste collection in Yorktown has changed as follows:

There will be no trash or recycling collections on Monday, Sept. 2. The "Monday and Thursday’s" kitchen refuse will be picked up on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday; and "Tuesday and Friday's" collections will be on Wednesday, Sept. 4 and Friday. 

Sections 1 and 7 will have their recycling picked up on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Section 6 will be on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

In addition, for the Labor Day weekend, the Organic Yard Waste Facility,located on Greenwood Street, will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 2.

Yorktown residents can bring their obsolete computers, monitors, keyboards, printers and TVs to the Refuse & Recycling site (behind the Yorktown Police Station) between 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. for free E-Waste Disposal Days on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 6.
