2020 Festival In The Park Cancelled In Charlotte
The annual fall arts festival in Dilworth's Freedom Park will not take place this year due to COVID-19, organizers announced Tuesday.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte's annual Festival in the Park has been cancelled this year, organizers announced Tuesday.
The three-day fall festival, which was scheduled to take place this year during the weekend of Sept. 25, is held every year in Freedom Park in Dilworth and attracts more than 125,000 attendees.
The cancellation is only the second time the festival has not taken place in its 56 year history.

"While we regret the circumstances, we believe this is the best decision as our community continues to navigate an unprecedented health crisis, Mark Boone, president of the festival's board of directors, said in a statement. "We look forward to inviting everyone back to Freedom Park for Charlotte's long-standing community celebration of visual and performing artists in September 2021."
