CHARLOTTE, NC — Enjoy the sunshine while you can Friday. Rain is on the way and is in the forecast every day until Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
"Widespread afternoon to evening showers and thunderstorms are expected today. Many of these storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds the primary threat," NWS said in a hazardous weather bulletin Friday morning. "Cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rain can be expected in any storm that develops, with isolated flash flooding possible."
The chance of showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast Saturday and Sunday, however the sun is expected to come out in earnest by the start of the work week, NWS said.
