Woman Charged After Man Fatally Stabbed In Charlotte Home

An arrest was made after a man was stabbed to death in a domestic incident early Sunday morning. Here's what police are saying.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 21-year-old woman was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after a man was found stabbed to death in a north Charlotte home in what police are calling a domestic incident.

According to a police report, officers received an emergency call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon in the 6300 block of Montego Drive off The Plaza around 4 a.m. July 26.

"When they arrived, they located a male victim who sustained stab wounds at the location," Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

The victim, who was later identified as Jaquis Lowery, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Preliminary information and evidence gathered indicates that the incident was domestic related," CMPD said.

Chakyra Robinson, 21, was charged with first-degree murder in Lowery's death, CMPD said.

CMPD said anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
