Man Sought for Questioning in Spring Lake Stabbing Death

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office wants to talk to German Torres-Jalicia, according to a press release.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s homicide detectives believe 28-year old German Torres-Jalicia can help solve the stabbing death of 35-year old Gabriel Cordoba-Reyes in Spring Lake, according to a department news release.

Reyes, 35, of Romie Street was fatally stabbed Saturday night at around 8:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators went to Reyes’ home after receiving a 911 call for help. When they arrived on scene, Reyes was found lying on the living room floor.

Reyes’ assailant is believed to be driving the victim’s vehicle, a red 2002 Nissan Frontier, four-door pickup truck with extended cab, the release says. The truck has a chrome toolbox in the bed which has no tailgate. The license tag is North Carolina YXA 9249.

Officials ask anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Torres-Jalicia to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 323-1500.  There will be Hispanic speaking persons available to speak with callers if necessary.
