A Richmond Hill pilot who caused a disturbance on his plane and yelled about a bomb has been found not guilty by reason of insanity, according to a CNN report.Â
Clayton Osbon, a JetBlue pilot, was found not guilty Tuesday by a federal judge in Amarillo, Texas, after a psychologist testified that he suffered from "a severe mental disease or defect that impaired his judgment."
Osbon was arrested after a March 27 incident where he began on a flight from New York to Las Vegas. Passengers said Osbon left the cockpit and tried to force his way into an occupied bathroom, then yelled that Iraq or Afghanistan had planted a bomb on the plane and urged everyone to pray. Osbon was locked out of the cockpit by other crewmembers and restrained by passengers. The copilot and an off-duty pilot who was onboard made an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas.
