The holiday season has arrived in Greenville, bringing twinkling lights, cheerful events and plenty of ways to make memories close to home. From light displays to beloved local traditions, here are the hometown holiday highlights you won’t want to miss.

Annual Festival of Trees
When: Now–December 29 | 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Where: Greenville Convention Center, 303 SW Greenville Blvd., Greenville, NC

This year will mark the 3rd annual Festival of Trees in Greenville, presented by the Family Support Network of Eastern North Carolina. This beautiful winter wonderland will hold nearly 100 trees decorated by local businesses, groups and individuals. Every sponsorship will go toward supporting the Center for Family Violence Prevention.

Christmas Town Market
When: December 4 | 4–9 p.m.
Where: Ayden Chamber of Commerce, 528 E. 3rd St., Ayden, NC
Right down the street in Ayden, the Christmas spirit is alive early in December with its yearly Christmas Town Market. Bring your entire family to shop around, have hot chocolate and even enjoy a visit from Santa. Continue the celebration at 6:30 p.m. with the Parade of Lights to cap off a fun-filled evening.

Merry & Bright Night
When: December 5 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Where: Five Points Plaza, 500 Evans St., Greenville, NC
Bring your family and loved ones out on this Friday evening and shop at the holiday market. Buy local goods from organizations and vendors in your neighborhood. There will also be live music, dance performances and even a visit from Santa for the young ones to enjoy.

The Greenville Jaycees Christmas Parade
When: December 6 | 5–6 p.m.
Where: Downtown Greenville, Evans St., Greenville, NC
Back for another year, the Greenville Jaycees will bring the community together for the Christmas Parade. This year’s theme, “A Night at the Movies,” the Jaycees hope to see all the former parade entrants from previous years, as well as some new faces. Sign-ups are still available if you or your organization want to join this year.
Holiday Markets
When: December 6 & 13 | 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: Eastern Carolina Village and Farm Museum, 4570 County Home Rd., Greenville, NC
Bring your family and loved ones out to one of the Saturday holiday markets this year, hosted by the Eastern Carolina Village and Farm Museum. You can shop for crafts and gifts, enjoy local food and tour the local museum buildings. A special treat on December 13: meeting Santa Claus himself.

Winter Wonder
When: December 13 | 2–6 p.m.
Where: Town of Winterville, 2571 Railroad St., Winterville, NC
A quick 20-minute drive south, you can enjoy the lovely Winter Wonder event hosted by the Winterville Chamber. Enjoy shopping at the vendor market along with the Christmas Parade starting at 2 p.m. Then, end off your evening on Main Street with the Tree Lighting Ceremony beginning at 5 p.m.
