12 Hospitalized After NC School Bus Overturned: Officials
A bus from Johnston County Public Schools overturned on Polenta Road near Cleveland High School in Clayton.
CLAYTON, NC — A school bus driver and 11 students have been taken to a local hospital after the bus was involved in a crash after leaving Cleveland High School on Monday afternoon, a school district spokesperson confirmed to Patch.
The Johnston County Public Schools bus was taking students home at the end of the school day when the accident occurred on Polenta Road near the high school. There were 25 passengers on board, and the 13 uninjured students were taken back to Cleveland High School on another bus. Parents of those students are coming to the school to pick up their children, according to the school district.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating, the district said.

Video from WRAL shows the school bus overturned as law enforcement secured the crash scene. All of the injuries were minor, according to the report.
