City Of Fargo: Fargo Residents Encouraged To Apply To Serve On Civil Service Commission

The City of Fargo currently has one opening on its Civil Service Commission. Residents are encouraged to apply for an appointment to the commission by visiting www.FargoND.gov/GettingInvolved. Applications will be accepted until the appointed position is filled. The commission meets the second Tuesday of each month as necessary with an average time commitment of one hour per month or less.

The commission is responsible for ensuring all employees of The City of Fargo receive fair and equal treatment and hearing appeals on disciplinary cases, investigates complaints related to employment administration, and presenting proposed employment rules and regulations to the Fargo City Commission for approval.

Civil Service Commissioners are paid $11.25 per hour when participating in a meeting. Commissioners must be residents of Fargo.

In addition to this opening, residents are encouraged to research and apply for appointment to any of the boards, commissions and committees for consideration in the event of future vacancies.
