5 Child-Related Resources Offered at the Avon Lake Public Library
Summer's still in full swing, here are some ways for you and your child to enjoy it more.

Avon Lake Public Library’s summer reading has been a smash hit, with more than 1,400 children participating.
With a month of summer left, you might be looking for a few more things to do before school starts.
Here are 5 resources the Avon Lake Public Library offers, that you may not have known existed:

- Child Care Connection Preschool Kits: Child Care Connection kits feature 50 popular preschool themes. Each kit contains 5 books and a puppet or toy related to the theme. For use by parents, caregivers and preschool teachers. Loan period is 21 days. The original grant was funded by the Gund Foundation. Click here for a list of themes.
- Puppet Kits:Â A picture book and a puppet in a canvas bag. Loan period is 21 days. Funding for the puppets was provided by the Kiwanis Club of Avon Lake.
- Games:Â A variety of board games for preschool and school age children to play with in the Library. Borrow games at the Children's desk.
-  Parenting Kits: A selection of books that adults can use to talk with children about difficult subjects. List of Parenting Kits
- Scout Information:Â Boy Scout Merit Badge books and Cub Scout, Girl Scout and Brownie leadership manuals available for check-out.
The library also offers computers featuring edu-tainment and educational programs appropriate for all ages. Internet access and word processing also available.
