A DeLorean, Paralympic Champion and Hunt Those Deer! 5 Things
There are kinds of things folks in Avon and Avon Lake should know about this week — we're happy to help.

Here's 5 things we found you might be interested in this week.
1. Did you graduate from Avon High School in 1983? The AHS Class of ’83 is holding its 30th reunion (yes, it’s been 30 years) this Saturday, Aug. 10 at Quaker Steak in Sheffield. Need the details? They’re here in events.
2. What have you go to say? “An official Avon Laker” had this to say last week on Patch’s “Speak Out”: “ I say, your not an Avon Laker if you have not had a deer car collision. Let the hunting begin!” Have your say on our Speak Out page this week.

3. Help a champion’s family! Breanna Sprenger's family is hoping to get to Canada to watch her compete in the IPC. The family held a garage sale last weekend, but is still accepting donations at Huntington National Bank and support can be mailed to the "Team Breanna" P.O. Box 422, Avon, OH 44011.
4. They’re baaaaack: Avon Council reconvenes Monday, Aug. 5. On the agenda? Domes over Avon Oaks Country Club tennis courts.

5. Electric cars and Back to the Future. Come see and talk with owners and dealers of plug in electric cars, home plug in charging stations, sign the LEEDCo Power Pledge, meet the people behind CleanFuels Ohio. Get your picture taken a DeLorean, the same car featured in the movie Back to the Future. After the sun sets, watch the movie outdoors Back to the Future. Concessions will be open. All takes place at Weiss Field (corner of Moore and Webber Roads, Avon Lake). Vehicles on display from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Movie starts at 8:20pm.
