3. Breaking records, Avon Lake High School senior Joe Swain dominated at the 42nd annual Southwestern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships held Saturday at Cleveland State. Swain, a 2022 Division I All-Ohio in the 200 free and 100 back, broke the 40-year Lorain County boys' record in the 100 fly which was reportedly set by North Ridgeville's Dave Valega in 1982 and tied by Avon Lake’s Brad Bartel in 2000. The record was reportedly 50.570 and Swain clocked 50.05. Great job Joe, you are amazing! (Chronicle Telegram)
