Lake Road in Avon Lake between SR 83 and Jaycox Road is closed due to a large water main break.
Avon Lake Police are providing detours.
An old section of pipe split and has been replaced. Water service has been restored to the Rice Park residents. Lake Road is still closed. ALMU is hoping to get is re-opened tonight.

According to Avon Lake Municipal Utilities, Lake Road has significant water on it, but break is actually on Rice Park Drive near Forest Hill.
The underground Rice Park 6” water main provides water to the residents on Rice Park north of Lake Road; only their water is affected (and they will have no water until the break is repaired later today).
Motorists should avoid Lake Road between Jaycox and 83. ALMU crews are working now to repair the break.
