Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. Greater Cincinnati Water Works has been locally testing the Ohio River, the primary source of drinking water for the area, due to the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio earlier this month. In a statement, Greater Cincinnati Water Works said they have not discovered any contaminants from the train incident in the area's water. There were also no traces of any of the chemicals associated with the spill, including butyl acrylate, vinyl chloride, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, and ethylhexyl acrylate, in the latest samples at the Richard Miller Treatment Plant on US 52. Earlier this week, Water Quality Superintendent Jeff Swertfeger said the Greater Cincinnati Water Works does not expect the contamination to reach the Cincinnati area until around Feb. 20. 2. Yesterday morning, Feb. 15, Cincinnati police found a 74-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man deceased following a apparent murder-suicide in the 1500 block of Section Road in Roselawn. Mildred Howell and Clarence Howell were pronounced dead at the scene due to gunshot wounds. According to the preliminary investigation, police believe Clarence Howell shot Mildred Howell before shooting himself. (WCPO Cincinnati)
  3. FC Cincinnati unveiled a new blue uniform that features black designs on the front to mimic the look of running water. The new 'River Kit' honors Cincinnati's heritage on the banks of the Ohio River. (Biz Journals)
