  1. Cincinnati police officer Darryl Tyus has been fired. Police Chief Teresa Theetge said Tyus was knowingly stalking a woman he previously had a relationship with – going as far as putting an Apple AirTag in her vehicle in April 2022 to monitor her whereabouts. Theetge said, "For the Cincinnati Police Department, the community’s trust is the foundation of what gives us the authority to perform our daily duties. Tyus not only broke that trust, but he broke the law that he took an honorable oath to enforce." (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
  2. A Cincinnati native will be featured on the next season of "Survivor." When the hit CBS show returns for its 44th season on Mar. 1, Joshua J. Wilder, a 34-year-old Cincinnati native, will be competing for the title of 'Sole Survivor.' The Atlanta surgical podiatrist will be one of 18 contestants competing for the $1 million prize in Fiji. (WVXU)
  3. Cincinnati City Council could be revisiting the single-use plastic bag ban, which was supposed to go into effect in 2021 but was blocked by a bill passed by lawmakers. However, the issue could be pushed by the Council in the near future. Council Member Meeka Owens said, "We certainly don't want this to be burdensome in any kind of way," Owens told WVXU. "But we also know that the cost-benefit — the sustainability, environmental impact, the health benefit — to this certainly outweighs everything else, in my opinion." (WVXU)
