Great River Connections Academy Recognizes Cincinnati Student

COLUMBUS, OH – Patrick Johnson of Cincinnati was recently selected to be among Great River Connections Academy’s Students of the Month in recognition of his outstanding achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Patrick, a fourth grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by his teacher, Ms. Huber, because of his hard work and positive approach to learning in the virtual classroom.

“Our students of the month demonstrate leadership and an extraordinary commitment to learning while serving as strong role models for their peers,” said Jason Swinehart, Principal at Great River Connections Academy. “The members of our faculty and staff are proud to give these virtual classroom leaders the recognition they deserve.”

Patrick was enrolled in Great River Connections Academy in 2021 to be in a safer academic option for Patrick following the pandemic. Patrick said he likes the flexible schedule and the in-person field trips. He also appreciates how the classes are tailored to each student’s individual needs and his teachers are available for questions and take the time to explain the materials if he is struggling.

“I love going to Great River Connections Academy because I have learned so much from school and my teachers always help me,” he said.

As a Student of the Month, Patrick will receive a certificate of achievement and be profiled in the Great River Connections Academy student newsletter and the school’s social media platforms.
