Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling! Returns 11/21
Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling!: A Drag & Wrestling Extravaganza! returns November 21 and I got the update from Hardcore Heather Owens

What do you get when you combine pro wrestling with a drag show? You get Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling!: A Drag & Wrestling Extravaganza! On November 21, Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling returns for its third year.

Looking for an update on this year's event, I went to promoter, long-time friend and (mostly) retired pro wrestler Hardcore Heather Owens, Co-Chair of Cincinnati Pride Athletics Committee. A veteran of many conventions, a long-time wrestler and a friend of the LGBTQ+ community, Heather was the perfect person to organize this event.
Debuting November 4, 2022, it was intended as a one-time show bringing together the world of pro wrestling and the LGTBQ+ community. Even Heather didn't plan on more. Immediately however, most folks quietly felt this was just the start of something big.

The debut was so successful, attendees and others who later saw it on the Power Pride Pro Wrestling YouTube channel immediately started asking for more. A successful second event in 2023 pretty much locked it in as a yearly event.
Once again, Rhinegeist Brewery will host Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling! Wild Side Experience also returns as the official food truck. There are several other great sponsors.

The night will feature five wrestling matches with drag performances interspersed:
"The Main Topic" Stxrm Garcon vs "Them Fatale" Eden Monroe
Sigrid, Daughter of Tyr vs "The Queerbilly" GG Jacobs
Alejandro vs Kodee Travers vs Kokojima
"Killa Cam" Cameron Saturn vs "Totally Plastic" Pha'Nesse
Kora Sline & Izak Phineas Abney vs Super Oprah & Sebastian LeShawn
Heather discussed the origins of Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling!, what it means to her, what to expect and more, including the the possibility of a championship belt. I'm betting on a belt (maybe next year) and I know it will look awesome!
Living in the Chicago area, I haven't made it to a Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling! event yet, but I hope to make it out to a show. Either way, I support the cause. Having interviewed Heather a few times about it and seeing her passion, I very much want to experience it in person. More importantly, I want to help spread the word.
Power! Pride! Pro Wrestling! isn't just a night of wrestling and drag performances. It is so much more. It is people simply coming together for a night of fun. It is several worlds merging in such a unique way.
Located in the OTR-downtown Cincy area, Rhinegeist Brewery is the perfect place for the event. Doors open at 6 pm with a 7 pm bell time. I'd suggest arriving at 6, getting food and a couple drinks and soaking in the atmosphere, before settling in for a fun night. Tickets are available now at CincinnatiPride.org.
