What’s a Chinese Breakdown?

Bluegrass music with Chinese food!

What’s a Chinese Breakdown? Bluegrass music with Chinese food? Why, that’s ridiculous!

Ridiculous it might be, but it is still lots of fun. Hosted by the China Garden Buffet, 1108 W. Kemper Rd in Cincinnati, OH, the Chinese Breakdown dinner features an extensive buffet of all your favorite Chinese foods. In addition to the traditional choices of Lo Mein, General Tso’s Chicken, and Stir Fried Rice, menu items include crab legs, delicious steamed fish, assorted chicken, beef, and pork dishes, egg rolls, and even a desserts bar. The buffet, refillable soft drink, tax, tip, and entertainment are all included in the $25 admission. Beer and wine are available for purchase but are not included in the admission price.

Cincinnati’s own Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Grass entertains Chinese Breakdown guests with lively bluegrass music. Appalachian Grass is a long established and well-respected bluegrass band with deep roots in the Cincinnati area. Their eclectic repertoire is delivered in a traditional, hard-driving bluegrass style featuring lightning fast instrumentals, smooth harmonies, and entertaining novelty songs.
